Self-regulatory organizations in the field of energy efficiency are voluntary non-profit associations of individuals and/or legal entities in the field of economic or professional activity in the field of energy efficiency which carry out powers to regulate activities in the field of energy efficiency.
The main functions of the SRO include the valuation and control of the professional activities of its members within its competence; protection of the professional interests of its members in disputes with authorities and consumers; guarantee of civil liability of its members in the minimum size; professional public examination of bills.
Implementation of self-regulation in the field of energy efficiency will allow:

On October 31, 2017, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted a draft resolution “On approval of the status of a self-regulatory organization in the field of energy efficiency and the Model Statute of a self-regulatory organization in the field of energy efficiency”.
The documents are developed in accordance with part five of Article 10 of the Law of Ukraine “On the energy efficiency of buildings”.
